d) Finally, decide which format of a letter you will use. (e.g., personal, formal letter, or newspaper articles)
Now, present your letter/ newspaper articles to the class.
Ans: Issues of Problems, in the referred texts are mentioned below
The text ‘My dream school’ highlights the issues or problems like-
In case of city
- Small pond
- Lack of trees
- Sound of horns of vehicles
- Tiny garden
- Not having a big playground
- Crossing busy roads is risky
In case of village
- Small library
- Roads are muddy in the rainy season
The text ‘Save our home’ gives us hints of some environmental problems like-
- Deforestation
- Plastic pollution, water pollution, air pollution, sound pollution
- Damage of crops, global warming, flood, etc.
For the problems found in the text “My dream school, I would write a formal letter to the Head teacher of my school.
On the other hand, in case of the problems found in the text ‘Save our home’, I would write formal letter again. However, this time, the authority to whom I will write is different. For instance- for any type of pollution, I would write an application to the UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer). Sometimes I may even write to Chairman or Mayor for some area-based problems. In such cases, newspaper articles may also be written for making people aware of the issues.
15.7 | In groups, find a problem from your surroundings and then, write an application/letter/ news article to solve it

Kadhurkhil United Muslim High School, Boalkhali, Chattogram
Subject: Request for taking step to clean the playground boundary.
Dear Sir,
We the students of class seven, are hereby to inform you that we have a large playground in our school. We must take care of it, as we use it on a regular basis. However, we would like to inform you that the boundaries of our playground are so dirty. The gardener and the sweeper are neglecting the problem and not doing their job properly. Since it is unhealthy for us, we cannot move around or sit near this boundary.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would take the matter seriously and take proper step regarding the above-mentioned problem.
Yours obediently
Sazid Kabir
