Ans: There are four characters in the scene. They are: King Lear and his three daughters-Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia

c. What do you like about ‘King Lear?

Ans: ‘King Lear’ has a nice plot. So, I like the theme of the drama that is quite interesting.

d. What are the characteristics of a play, you have found in “King Lear”?

Ans: The characteristics of a play that I have found in “King Lear” are that the play is divided into acts and scenes. It has setting, plot, characters, dialogues, etc.

16.3 | Now, discuss in pairs/groups whether the following sentences are true or false. If false, write the correct information. Later, check your answers with other pairs/groups.

Ans: No, all the characters are not happy in the forest such as Jaques is upset.

3. What makes Jaques sad?

Ans: Only killing animals makes Jaques sad.

4. Why did Jaques call human beings usurpers?

Ans: Jaques called human beings usurpers because humans act like tyrants. They frighten the animals and kill them up in their native dwelling place.

5. Animals are losing their natural habitats. What can you do to protect them?

Ans: To protect the natural habitats of animals, I can take steps to reduce environmental pollution and plant more and more trees.

16.12 | In class six, you learned the characteristics of a play. Now, in pairs/ groups find out the characteristics of a play in “As You Like It”. Then, write and describe them in the given table. One is done for you.
