BSS (Hons) in Development Studies | (1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations from any discipline/group. (2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 9.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations with minimum GPA 4.50 in each of the examinations. (3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations. (4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations. (5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ and ‘A’ level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale: Note: Grading lower than ‘D’ or 4 (9-1 Grading System) will not be considered for point calculation (6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation. (7) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 100 marks. The mark distribution is as follows: (a) English-40 (b) General Knowledge – 40 (c) Bangla- 20 (8) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Economics must have minimum A- (A Minus) grade in Economics/Accounting/Statistics/Higher Mathematics either in SSC/equivalent or HSC/equivalent examination Candidates from ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level background must have minimum D grade in any of the above mentioned subjects (9) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Disaster Management and Resilience must have studied Higher Mathematics/Statistics in HSC/equivalent level and scored minimum ‘A- (A Minus) grade in the examination. (2) The candidate must have 8 points based on the following calculation: calculations are given below For MBA table. (3) Master’s Degree holders will be rewarded with 1 (one) additional point ( marks at least in 05 (five) subjects with minimum ‘D’ grade in each. ( 4) Applicants who appeared in ‘O’ level examination must obtain pass. 5) Applicants who appeared in ‘A’ level examination must obtain pass marks at least in 02 (two) subjects with minimum ‘D’ grade in each. BSc in Information and Communication Engineering (BICE) | (1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations from science discipline/group as per national curriculum (2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain GPA 5.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations. (3) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ and ‘A’ level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total after conversion based on the following scale: calculations are given below Note: Grading lower than ‘D’ or 4 (9-1 Grading System) will not be considered for point calculation (4) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1. 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation (5) Candidates will have to sit for a written test (MCQ) of 60 marks. Students opting to apply for ICE and/or CSE must have Mathematics and those opting to apply for Environmental Science must have Biology in HSC or equivalent as their compulsory/ optional (4th subject) subject. Students opting to apply for all three departments (ICE, CSE and ES) must have both Mathematics and Biology in HSC or equivalent level. Special Instructions about Bangladesh University of Professional (BUP) Admission
- Admission Test will be taken in MCQ System, and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- Candidates having foreign degree (Except ‘O’TA’ Level/International Baccalaureate) must have the equivalence certificate from Ministry of Education/Education Board/University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.
- Minimum 40% marks to be obtained in English for qualifying in the examination.
- Candidates eligible for Quota should bring all supporting documents during admission.
Following mark distribution will be followed for the assessment of candidates of all faculties except MBA:
Written Test-Total=100
(1) MCQ =55%.
(2) HSC/Equivalent Result 25%
(3) SSC/Equivalent Result-20%
For Two Year MBA Programme:
Written Test-Total=100
(1) MCQ = 65%,
(2) Undergraduate/Bachelor/Honours / Equivalent Result =15%
(3) HSC/Equivalent Result=10%
(4) SSC/Equivalent Result=10%
Students who passed BBA from the Department of Business Administration General, under the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), BUP need not appear at the Admission Test. They are advised to submit an application to the Chairman, Department of Business Administration – General, FBS before the last date of the examination
