13.1 | Ask and answer the following questions in pairs/groups. (জোড়ায়/দলীয়ভাবে নিচের প্রশ্নগুলো জিজ্ঞাসা করো এবং উত্তর দাও) :

Ans: Discussion In Pairs ( জোড়ায় আলোচনা) 

Riya: Hi, Piya, do you read and collect books other than textbooks? If yes, why?
Piya: Yes, I do. Because by reading other books. I can know about queens and fairies, the brave persons in the history, make a call on quaint persons, and go to the wonderland. By the way, have you learned any new words or phrases from this textbook? Tell 6-10 new words you have learned.
Riya: Yes, I’ve learned some new words such as gnomes, quaint, winding, wrap up, accent, left out, long face, predominantly, sneaky, well-struck ball, etc. So, have you learned anything new such as how to talk in formal and informal situations?
Piya: Yes, a little bit. In a formal situation, one should use expressions like ‘Hello!’, ‘It’s a pleasure to meet you’, ‘Could you please help me?”, ‘How are you doing?, I’m not able to attend, etc. But in an informal situation, one should use expressions like ‘Hi!/Hey!’, ‘Nice to meet you’, ‘Can you help me?/Help me!’, ‘What’s going on?/What’s up’. “I can’t make it’, etc.
Riya: Really, You’ve learned a great thing! We need it in our daily conversation. I also learned an item. It’s to describe someone or something using adjectives. For example, Meena is a kind girl. She is also cooperative and friendly. She is polite also. By the way, have you learned anything interesting from this book?
Piya: Of course. From this book I’ve learned about some foreign cultures. They are very different from ours. Infact, every culture has its own way to lead its lifestyle.
Riya: You’re right. Thank you very much.

Ans: They said that they read books because they get pleasure. Also they can know the unknown, and see the unseen through reading books. Moreover, they can know about the famous persons in the history and visit the wonderland. Infact, they read books mainly for getting pleasure.

প্রতিবার যখন আমি পড়ি আমার 
যোগাযোগ হয় 
বড় বা ছোট অদ্ভুত এক লোকের সাথে, 
সে আমায় স্বাগত জানায় প্রাণবন্ত হাতে 
আর একদল লোকের মাঝে নিয়ে যায় 
তারা আজবদেশে।

প্রতিটি বই হলো
একটি শহরের রাস্তার মত 
যে রাস্তার বিভিন্ন দিকে আমার সাক্ষাৎ হয়
নতুন এবং পুরাতন বন্ধুদের সাথে 
যারা হাসে আর গান করে 
আর আমাকে নিয়ে যায় দুঃসাহসিক কাজে!

Tina : Yes. I can. A poem is a kind of literary writing. It has some characteristics such as stanza, rhyming, etc. And, the stanzas of the poem are ‘I love my……. gnomes’. ‘Each time wonderland’, and ‘Each book ….. off adventuring’. Now, can you say about the rhyming words in this poem?
